WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) is a nutritional program offered to pregnant and breast feeding mothers, infants and children under 5 years. WIC clients receive nutrition education and food supplements under Federally-mandated income guidelines.
Immunizations for adults and children are available every Tuesday & Friday. If needed, special appointments can be made.
Temporary Medicaid cards are issued to pregnant women who qualify under Federal guidelines. These cards provide for outpatient prenatal care.
Car Seat Program provides a new car seat or booster seat for children under 8 years old. There are requirements for this service and an appointment is needed.
Home Visits are made to those in need of nursing care. Visits are made to home bound patients who live within Carroll County and may be requested by the family physician, family member or the individual.
Safe Sitter Classes are provided by public health nurses. CPR and first aid are demonstrated in addition to a variety of other information provided for each class participant, ages 11 to 13, interested in babysitting. Registration fee and appointment is required.
Child Care Consultation Program provides training and health promotion activities for local child care providers. This service is offered free of charge every other month. Programs are provided by a Registered Nurse and registration is required.
